“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition”, Thomas edison
It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.
Hello everyone. Today I am going to write on the healthy diet. Specially the diet which we should take in this with COVID-19. So many questions are there what should we give our kids… which kind of diet should be given to the oldies… what should we take… so I’m having some ideas which I am using for my family members… I want to share here….
It is particularly important for young children under the age of 2 years to have a nutritious diet to protect their immunity and to ensure their future growth and development . The COVID-19 crisis is disrupting normal life, so that parents and caregivers may either not be able to afford to buy the food that they normally give their young children. This may mean adapting habits.
Here are some tips for ensuring that young children receive a nutritious diet during the covid-19 crisis-
Continue to breastfeed – up until six months of age breast milk provides all the nutrients that a child needs and protect against illness.
Give your, fruits vegetables, legumes, nuts and whole grains.
Make sure your child drinks enough water everyday.
Make sure your child eat healthy fats.
Eating freshly cooked food, preferably home cooked food is advised because it will be nutritious and hygienic for children thereby reducing the risk of gut infection.
What kinds of food should we avoid-
Chips, cookies and icecream are ok once in a while but not everyday. Keep junk food and treats out of the house so your kids are not tempted. Save sugary drinks like soda juice sports drinks and sweets for special thanks. offer water and milk instead.
packaged foods and prepared meals are convenient but can be high in sugar and calories. check food labels and choose the healthy options.
